You most likely have a few pairs of these super-comfortable shoes in your closet, but do you know how to wash them properly? Crocs are very durable and require special care if you want them to last as long as possible. To keep your shoes looking great and feeling comfortable, follow some simple tips for washing your crocs. With their patented Croslite™ foam construction, the lightweight and moisture-wicking properties of the shoe make it a prime candidate for washing. But you should avoid putting them in the washer or dryer unless they are very soiled. Washing instructions will depend on the style of your Crocs. Read on to learn how to wash different types of Crocs so they last as long as possible:

Can I Put Crocs In The Washing Machine?

1. Choose the right washer

Crocs can be washed in front-loading or top-loading machines. Front-loading machines are better for small loads of laundry because they have an agitator to help break up any lint, dirt, or mineral deposits. Top-loaders are best for large loads of laundry because they allow you to use a small drum to wash your clothes.

2. Wear and wash your Crocs

To avoid damage from the agitator, do not wear your shoes when washing them. However, if you do wear them during the wash cycle, make sure to turn off the machine before removing your shoes. To remove excess water from Crocs, put them in a towel and pat out the water with another towel. Avoid using any fabric softener sheets or dryer sheets with Crocs because these products can cause damage to the foam on your shoes.

3. Wash inside out

Because Crocs are made of foam that is breathable but not waterproof, they must be washed inside out so that they don’t get moldy or mildewed like other types of shoes. Wash them by hand instead of putting them in a washing machine if possible because this will ensure that they remain as clean as possible without too much exposure to other fabrics in your home environments such as curtains and furniture fabrics. If you do put them into a machine, make sure that it is on cold water and use low heat settings for drying so that they don’t get damaged.

4. Use the right detergents and softeners

Avoid any detergents that contain bleach or fabric softeners because these products can cause damage to your Crocs. Instead, use a gentle detergent that has been specially formulated for Crocs and follow instructions on the package to ensure that it does not damage the foam.

5. Avoid using dryer sheets

Dryer sheets can cause damage to the foam on your shoes if used too frequently, so avoid using them with your Crocs to prevent unnecessary wear and tear. If you must use dryer sheets, make sure they are made of cotton or other fibers that are not too abrasive or liquid-based.

6. Don’t store them in direct sunlight

If you store your shoes in direct sunlight, they may fade faster than usual because of exposure to UV rays from sunlight. Store them in a dark area away from high heat sources such as windows and air vents so that they will last for as long as possible without fading.

Washing Crocs By Hand

1. Wash your Crocs before wearing them

Before wearing your Crocs, make sure to wash them first to avoid damage to the foam. To do this, put the shoes into a mesh bag and pour in a small amount of lukewarm water. Soak them for at least 10 minutes and then rinse with cold water. Avoid using fabric softeners or dryer sheets with your shoes because these products can damage the foam on the shoe.

2. Wash only in cold water

Hot water can cause damage to your Crocs and may warp them, so avoid using it when washing them to prevent this from happening. Cold water will not only clean them well but also prevent any staining or discoloration that may occur from exposure to hot water.

3. Prevent excess drying time

If you must dry your shoes after washing, make sure that you do not allow them to dry for more than 3 days because prolonged exposure to sunlight will cause fading as well as cracking of the shoe’s foam material. After drying, store in a dark area away from direct sunlight and heat sources such as air vents and windows so that they don’t fade too quickly.

4. Avoid bleach

Bleaching products can cause damage due to excess exposure to bleach which can result in staining of the foam on your Crocs if used frequently enough. Instead, use non-bleach detergents on your shoes because they are made specifically for Crocs without any bleach or other harmful substances.

5. Avoid dryer sheets

How To Clean Your Crocs With Baking Soda

1. Mix baking soda with water

To clean your Crocs, all you have to do is mix 1 tsp of baking soda with 1 tsp of lukewarm water and then mix it with a toothbrush.

2. Use the solution as a scrubber

After mixing the solution with a toothbrush, use it to scrub the inside of your Crocs and remove any dirt that has accumulated in the bottom of them. Make sure to wash any excess liquid after using this solution because it will dry very quickly.

3. Rinse with warm water

After cleaning your Crocs, rinse them well with warm water to remove any residue left on them by the baking soda solution. Dry off your shoes next and then let them air-dry for them to return to normal as quickly as possible.

4. Wipe with a sponge

Now that your Crocs are dry, you can use a sponge to wipe them clean. Just soak the sponge in warm water and then wipe off any dirt that has accumulated on your Crocs. If the inside of your shoes is still dirty, you can simply repeat the process for a second time.

5. Use an antibacterial wipe

After cleaning your Crocs, place an antibacterial wipe on them and let them sit for a few minutes so that they will absorb any dirt or dead skin cells that may be left on them. Then, just wipe off the wipe and let air dry your shoes as soon as possible to ensure they don’t get moldy or develop any sort of odor.

Zappfresh And Other Odor Removers

1. Use Zappfresh

Zappfresh is a product that is available at most grocery stores and can be used to remove odor from your Crocs. Simply rub the Zappfresh on your shoes and let it sit for a few minutes before wiping it off with a cloth or paper towel.

2. Use Febreze

Febreze is also another product that you can use to remove odor from your Crocs. Just spray some of the Febreze on your shoes and let it sit for a few minutes before wiping it off with a cloth or paper towel so that all of the odor will have been removed.

3. Use Lysol

Lysol is an air freshener that can also be used to remove odor from your Crocs. Just spray some of the Lysol on them and let it sit for a few minutes before wiping them off with a cloth or paper towel so that all of the odor will have been removed.

4. Use baking soda

Baking soda is another product you can use to remove odor from your Crocs. Just mix 1 tsp of baking soda with 1 tsp of lukewarm water, mix with a toothbrush, and then scrub out any dirt or residue on your shoes using this solution. If there are still stains left after scrubbing, simply repeat this process until they are completely clean.

5. Use hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide can also be used to clean out any dirt or stains from your Crocs. Place some hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball and rub it into the Crocs until all of the dirt is gone. Then, just wipe off all of the residues with a paper towel to ensure that your shoes have been completely clean.

Final Words

Crocs are great for keeping your feet comfortable during busy days. Make sure you take good care of your Crocs by washing them regularly and using an odor remover. If you follow these tips, your Crocs will last a long time.
